UPDATE:  The Boca Raton City Council decided 3 to 2 to allow building heights up to 160 feet on downtown parcels as small as 1.2 acres. The proposed Ordinance 5289 originally asked to remove all restrictions on minimum parcel size to change from the existing minimum parcel size of 2 acres.

 

This benefits not only Tower 155, but numerous parcels under 2 acres in the downtown area.

The Boca Raton City Council is scheduled to make a decision tonight on proposed changes in building heights.  The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Boca Raton City Hall, 201 West Palmetto Park Road.

Ordinance 5289 eliminates the current 2.0 acre minimum parcel size requirement for 160-foot buildings. Approval of Ordinance 5289 would enable the Tower 155 development project to build up to 160 feet, and also would affect ALL downtown parcels.
