The Boca Del Mar Improvement Association (BDMIA) will consider its options for saving Mizner Trail at its board meeting on March 11, 2015. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Boca Del Mar Meeting Room at The Shoppes at

Mizner Trail is the South Course that was designed by famed golf course architect Joe Lee of Boca Raton, and was built on 148 acres in 1975, to serve Boca Del Mar communities. The north course is a private membership club. The Mizner Trail Golf Club was a public golf course with a clubhouse until it was shuttered in 2005 by developer-investors who applied for rezoning to replace the fairways with their housing development instead. The county commission continued to uphold the community’s Master Plan but reversed its position on June 26, 2014. BDMIA appealed BCC’s vote in the 15th Judicial Court. The court turned down Boca Del Mar’s appeal with no explanation on Feb. 17, 2015. Options for the next steps will be discussed at the BDMIA board meeting.
