Word is that the PulteGroup intends to buy the Mizner Trail former golf course and that a closing has been set for this coming Friday, April 15.

Please attend the Boca Del Mar Improvement Association (BDMIA) board meeting this Wednesday (April 13, 2016) where more details should be known.

Want to Tell Pulte How You Feel About Development?
If you bought your home in Boca Del Mar to be on or have access to the former Mizner Trail golf course and want to tell Pulte just how you feel about them filling your master-planned green space with townhomes and condominiums, express your opinion to these officials listed on the PulteGroup’s website:

[email protected].  Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications

[email protected]  Public Relations for Florida, Georgia and South Carolina

[email protected]. Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary

Meanwhile, a group of Boca Del Mar residents have filed lawsuits under the Bert J. Harris Act against Palm Beach County for allowing zoning for development on the community’s golf course adjacent to their property. The Bert J. Harris Act is designed to protect property rights from government actions.

This would not be the first time that the PulteGroup surprised residents by building on or near the former Mizner Trail Golf Course. In 2000 it built The Coronado at Boca Raton condominiums on a strip of land that cut off views between the golf clubhouse and the southern fairways. Many residents reported that they had no knowledge of the impending build until they saw construction activity.

Meanwhile, an  internal war over the direction of PulteGroup has been waging between the original founder, William J. “Bill” Pulte, and the company’s current CEO, Richard Dugas, and its board of directors. The current board is pursuing strategy designed to increase shareholder profits. Read more about Bill Pulte’s battle for the “soul of the company” in The Wall Street Journal (Sunday April 10, 2016).
