The Palm Beach County Planning Department is giving community organizations more time to submit alternatives to the proposals from developers and land owners that would add more development to the Agricultural Reserve and which are slated to be up for discussion at a March 24 Board of County Commissioners (BCC) workshop.

“As you know, over the past year [the Count] has been conducting a Roundtable process directed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), regarding the Agricultural Reserve.  This process has focused on a set of proposals submitted on behalf of farmers and other property-owners at a March 2014 BCC Workshop,” wrote Maria Bello of the Planning Division.

“In the course of the Roundtable process, a number of community organizations and groups have requested the opportunity to prepare alternative proposals for consideration at the BCC’s upcoming workshop on March 24, 2015.  At the February Roundtable, a deadline of March 6 was given for any organizations wishing to submit a proposal.  However, several organizations have requested additional time to prepare their submittals.  As a result, the deadline for submittal of proposals from community groups and organizations has been extended to March 19th at 5:00 p.m.  Proposals submitted are placed on the Planning Division website for public access, and forwarded to the BCC for their upcoming Workshop.”
