Take Back Delray Beach reports that after two hours of a “confusing and contentious” Planning and Zoning meeting Monday, the P&Z Board postponed a hearing for a developer’s request for a final plat for Atlantic Crossing.

Proper Notice Not Given to the Public

The group’s Facebook page reports:

“The Board was to consider the request by the developer to approve a final plat for Atlantic Crossing certified plat recorded in 2013, which still shows the access road, for which the city traded away the alleyways. After over two hours of a quasi-judicial hearing on the matter, it was determined by the P&Z board that proper notice of the hearing was not given to the public, and the hearing was postponed to a later date. We attended the confusing and contentious meeting and left with the impression that the developer was foiled in an attempt to rush the final plat application through P&Z and on to the City Commission – possibly to avoid an unfavorable change to the make up of the City Commission.”

Mitchel Katz “only candidate” to Speak Up for Residents

March 10th election is important because in addition to Atlantic Crossing, there will be projects coming before the commission for approval, including Hudson Holdings “Sundy Lane” and the iPic Theater.  Mitch Katz is endorsed by the Sun Sentinel “For the best chance of an upgrade.”
